Dr. Brock Karben
Optometrist
Dr. Karben is a Northwestern native who grew up in a small town in Washington State. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2002 from Washington State University followed by his Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University in 2008.
His varied experiences during his clinical rotations allowed Dr. Karben to manage his patients with the highest standards, while still providing quality care to each individual patient. Dr. Karben focused his training on comprehensive ocular disease during his internship at the Black Hills VA in South Dakota. During this time he expanded his clinical skills in glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye, cataracts and many other conditions. He also completed an internship at a dedicated vision therapy clinic in San
Diego where he was able to work with patients of all ages. He rounded out his clinical training at a private medical ophthalmology/optometry clinic, where he gained additional skills in contact lens fitting and design.
Prior to working at Lifetime Vision Care, Dr. Karben spent 8 years at Eyehealth Northwest, a well-known ophthalmology group in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Karben and his wife, Dr. Emily Karben, another optometrist, are having a blast with their young son and daughter. In his free time, Dr. Karben enjoys spending time outdoors fly fishing, backpacking, kayaking, and snowshoeing.
